Health Supplements for Heart Diabetes Patient Didn't Restore His Health (as featured in Forbes Magazine)

Adult Stem Cell Treatment Proves the Answer for Man with Coronary Artery Disease and Type 2 Diabetes

Andy Jordan, a retired public servant from Tennessee, spent decades exploring alternative medicine for coronary artery disease to avoid the fate of his father, who died at age 51 from heart failure.

Andy's journey led him to VesCell, a groundbreaking medical treatment that used Andy's own stem cells to repair his heart - providing him a rejuvenation and extension on life that surpassed all other health supplements for heart and diabetes he'd tried.

In 1987, Andy Jordan, then 51 years old himself, underwent a quadruple by-pass operation on his completely blocked right coronary artery. However, in 2000, after a routine angiogram, he discovered his right main artery was blocked again. Fortunately, his cardiologist determined that the remaining 3 grafts from his previous bypass surgery provided sufficient blood flow to both sides of his heart. In 2002, he began treatment for Type 2 diabetes treatment.

Starting in 2004, Andy depended on Nitroglycerin pills to get through the tough times when the angina pain would worsen - even letting him continue to play his beloved game of golf.

Also in 2004, he began getting regular AIC tests - primarily to monitor the glucose control of diabetics over time, which has averaged between 6.0 and 7.0. In December 2007, a pacemaker device was implanted in his chest to stabilize his heart rate, with release from the hospital the next day.

At first, Andy felt less angina pain, with only two nitro pills needed the first week, and experienced a stable heart rate in the 60s coupled with beta blockers. But his chest pain kept getting progressively worse.

By late Jan 08, Andy commented, "it seems like the ability of drugs to do the job is lacking. I had my annual exam yesterday and on Monday I saw my cardiologist (about my pacemaker) for the last time. Both were supportive of me finding a non-invasive alternative to another bypass."

Andy's other medical conditions include ischemic heart disease, frequent, chronic, stable angina, occasional shortness of breath, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), and coronary atherosclerosis. He is at risk of an extensive, high-risk cardiovascular event such as a heart attack, and has high-probability occlusive coronary artery disease - obstruction of large peripheral arteries, which can lead to stenosis, embolism or thrombus formation causing either acute or chronic ischemia.

Alternative Medicine for Coronary Artery Disease

Andy definitely didn't rule out alternative medicine for coronary artery disease; in 2007, he received 35 EECP treatments, which had little improvement on his health. EECP is a mechanical procedure in which inflatable leg cuffs are inflated and deflated so that the blood in the legs is “milked” upwards toward the heart. EECP also creates something like a sudden vacuum in the arteries, which reduces the work of the heart muscle in pumping blood into the arteries. Both of these actions have long been known to reduce cardiac ischemia (the lack of oxygen to the heart muscle) in patients with coronary artery disease.

Becoming Proactive Outside the Medicare System

When it came to his heart health medical insurance was no impediment for Andy.  "I am pre-disposed to fix my heart before something else breaks," he says. "However, I realize that both private (insurance) and public systems (Medicare) are geared to 'if it ain't broke, then don't fix it!'"

Andy discovered VesCell adult stem cell treatment while surfing the Internet in November 2007 for any medical news for a failing heart. He began researching TheraVitae Co., Ltd. - the company that provides the VesCell therapy.

"Little did I know that the VesCell treatment and Chao Phay Hospital would become my best and only hope to avoid being placed on a heart transplant list!" says Andy.

Andy got in touch with TheraVitae, and they reviewed all his health records before accepting him for the VesCell treatment. Andy's American doctors were "very supportive" of him leaving for the VesCell treatment in Bangkok, he says.

Andy and his wife, Judy, traveled to stay for three weeks at one of Thailand's finest, state-of-the-art medical centers, Chaophya Hospital.

His expert medical team was lead by Dr. Suphachai, president of the Thai Heart Association and Thai Atherosclerosis Society, and one of Asia's leading cardiologists. He did his residence and trained for several years at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, and is still accredited to practice in the US. His son, Vitthaya Chaithiraphan, also a doctor, works alongside his father at Chao Phya Hospital.

Dr. Suphachais' team placed 25 million "repair cells" by catheter into Andy's heart on July 9, 2008.

His health results have been nothing short of phenomenal. "My baseline nuke test on May 28, 2008 (in the U.S.) showed my ejection infraction (EF) had fallen to 19.5%," says Andy, "so my status was the heart transplant list or the VesCell treatment."

Only 32 days later - following the VesCell stem cell treatment - Andy's first follow-up echocardiogram, on August 11, 2008 estimated his EF at 37%. "That's a 100% increase over my lowest EF rating!" he says.

Doctors, Friends and Family All Notice the Improvement

Andy reports that he is feeling great; a follow-up visit with his primary care doctor included an echo test showing 37% EI. He's been off Nitroglycerin and Dobutamine since July 16.

He's walking 15 minutes a day on the treadmill, and calculates that the distance for a six-minute walk would be 1/4 mile at 2.3 miles per hour. Andy's family and friends have noticed improved facial color and stamina. Andy says he has more energy and needs fewer nitro pills during the week - only two to four pills a week now.

In fact, the only real drain on his energy that he's noticed has been all the time spent dealing with the many friends and family members who are interested in the results of his VesCell adult stem cell treatment and how it might help their own health.

Grateful VesCell Patients Helping Others

Andy doesn't mind, though; in fact, he's joined the ranks of grateful patients reaching out to others suffering from heart failure in the hope that they will find relief from VesCell, too. "You may email me at ajordan142@gmail.com or call me at 615-449-2898."

He, in turn, received valuable information and support from earlier VesCell patients, such as James Burns, of Oregon, USA. "All of them were ready to answer my emails and phone calls."

"My heart is getting stronger, with good body functions," says Andy. "I could not be more pleased with TheraVitae's services... I will be forever grateful for my 'born again' heart."
