Richard Schlueter, 80, from Spring Hill, Florida felt he was a dying man. His ejection fraction (a measure of the heart’s pumping ability) was at 35%. “I couldn’t walk 35 feet to the mailbox. I was going downhill. I didn’t know how much longer I had before I died, but I knew it wasn’t long.”
